Filming has already started in Oxford for Series 4 of the successful detective drama Endeavour, the prequel to Inspector Morse, which will return to TV soon. Indeed the cameras were rolling in the Radcliffe Square, in the heart of Oxford, again yesterday.
Endeavour stars Shaun Evans following in the footsteps of John Thaw, or is it the other way around? With 2017 marking the 30th Anniversary of Inspector Morse first showing on TV, no better time to visit Oxford.
As always, apart from a great storyline, many of Oxford’s iconic buildings will feature & no doubt a few great pubs.
Apart from entering the world of Endeavour, if TV drama is your passion, revel in the settings of the Midsummer Murders (John Nettles) spread across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire within easy reach of Oxford; where towns and villages have names every bit as wonderful as their fictional counterparts. And if that is not enough Downtown Abbey (Hugh Bonneville) film sets include Highclere Castle & the village of Bampton, where little work was required to return the settings to Edwardian England, again all within 30 miles of Oxford.
We at Oxfordbnb, which is well placed to enable memorable visits to these places, will do all we can to making your stay enjoyable.
